On Thursday we had the Junior Music Festival at The Hexagon and everyone performed so well! I felt really proud to be a part of something which sounded and looked so good, especially as some of the children taking part were very young. It was a long day but worth it! I would encourage anyone to come and see next year's performance.
Then, on Friday, Sarah (Music Centre Manager) made the executive decision that we should have a lie in and come into work for 10am - a fair decision. I'm sure you remember Friday was Children in Need which meant we came to work in our Onesies!! I personally think every day should be a Onesie day. I gave Kate a lift in the morning and we had to pop into ASDA - we didn't realise until we pulled into the car park that we were going to have to go out in public in our Onesies. The looks we got were interesting!
It was nice to see so many people making the effort for Pudsey and wearing Onesie's. Even those who did not wear Onesie's still tried to wear spots in some form which was nice. children and parents alike were so generous - one man must have come and donated 4 different times on Saturday morning and even decided to pop out to get more money so he could keep giving!
I read an article last night that claimed Reading was one of the best places to live and after seeing how many people were giving and getting involved for this charity, I have to say I very much agree. The generosity displayed by the parents and staff at the Reading Music Centre was amazing.
I also have a quick thank you I would like to add - I'd like to thank the PFA (Parents and Friends Association) who kindly helped with funding and looking after the cake sale - their posh hot chocolates were wonderful!
